Guest Leveller
Crags have you got the test to hand there? did the Borneos rate anywhere? I love mine to bits and when they die I'll get another pair Quote Link to post
cragman 2,790
Levs, I have the test to hand and the Borneos are not listed simply because they are the equivilent to the Burmas except they have no Gortex lining, so the difference is negligible but the quality the same. Quote Link to post
Hob&Jill 258
Let's face it, Chameau, Aigle or Barbour etc will mostly win over Berghaus, Raichle or Scarpa, when it comes to a fieldsportsman looking for good footwear.... but they aren't always the better choice. You will get a far better boot for a cheaper price... £180 quid it costs for a pair of le chameau boots, never heard of them winning many awards, or even having seen people hiking in them Quote Link to post
jasper65 6
Nice one Cragman that Interesting stuff . there was a pair of Borneo's going on Ebay a few eeks back which was boxed and good as new, I would have bidded for these but forgot about the date the Auction ended . the Gortex lining stuff wouldn't have matterd to me and to be Honest I would have had the Borneo's if I knew that was the only difference, I must admit though these Meindls seem a comfortable boot, I had a stroll out tonight still breaking them in but they seem to be getting more comfy each time I wear them. Cheers Jasper Quote Link to post
