THE GENERAL 1,982
Its very hard to find decent fellas in the dog world, I was loaned Gurya when I dug to my young dog Ronnie and he was dead. I say loaned (more like given as long as I wanted) I was short on digging dogs, he was only 2 and I worked him hard for 5 seasons, I had a few dogs off this fella (no names) and he is a top man and top dog man too which is rare. I could count on one hand the people who would do that for me and I have known a few lads down the years. There's plenty of good lads in the dog world, only thing is there's twice as many cowboys. Wasn't it Booth that gave you Gurya? Sure he bred the dog (TimxTonic) 1 Quote Link to post

Rabbit Hunter 6,613
For all the bad words said about Booth he seems to have left his imprint in some decent terriers in Ireland. I got his little booklet recently, do all these dogs go back to the Nuttall stuff he had in the 80s? Quote Link to post
THE GENERAL 1,982
You are right he did breed the dog, but I never got it off him. The dog must have been passed about a bit because another man owned him as well. Edited November 18, 2016 by THE GENERAL Quote Link to post

Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Yes I'm the same mate. He seems very arrogant and full of himself in the booklet, I'm also fully aware of the dog thieving etc that's assosciated with him. But I'm an avid book collector on anything terriers so it'll go in the collection. Quote Link to post

Rabbit Hunter 6,613
Yeah Chapmans book is a decent read even though I'm not a russell fan. The Booth book is very brief like you say. I like Harcombes books also, I find them very easy to read. Francie you name it I probably have it. Quote Link to post
