I was very carefull all day monday and my shoulder felt fine tuesday so i stupidly did some fairly heavy lifting and carrying (just loaded a few builders fences from my house into the van to move..yesterday i was in a bit of pain so was resting my arm thinking this bastarding thing is taking forever but hopefully will be gone by morning ... Well i woke up an hour ago in so much pain i couldnt move... Ive taken the only painkillers in the house havr shooting pains going up my neck and down my right arm as well as a dull ache in my hand How fecking long does this thing take to heal? Its getting scary now as i cant even lay down! I know... Im not very good at staying still for long... Im a shite patient but ive better things to be doing than sitting around... baw 4,360
I've heard an all over body massage helps, I'll on you my number seriously, never had it. Know a mate who had one in his back for weeks. Seen dogs with one that took as long too.

Frann 882
I had a trapped nerve last year and its a the doc gave me anti inflammatory drugs (like aspirin and ibuprofen) to get any swelling down.
haymin 2,465
Diclofenac is the way to go . Get some one to give you a massage or go to a chiropractor cost about 40 quid but hell manipulate it and give you some stretches to do . Nothing worse had one on my lower back before not good hope it's awa soon for ya . Just keep on moving it and do some stretches your self atb

It really does feel like youve been stabbed, i was very lucky to find painkillers in the house as i dont usually take them... Hope you feel better soon max, this is a c**t of a thing! Had to google rotator cuff lol, its the same sort of area as mine, mine is under my collar bone. I always thought it was middle aged folk who got injurys like this... bird 9,941
what you got to be careful with is the pain killing drugs, because the drugs do work in most cases, and (dull) the pain down. But with any pain its nature's way of letting you know there is a prob. And what you should do is (rest) the body to let it heal .Ive had back probs since 1982 ,had 3 slipped dics in that time. What i do if i get real bad back, is just rest for the 1st week, to let things calm down+ heal. Then 2nd week just very easy exercise, and norm takes 6-8 weeks to get back to what it was before. Listen to your body mate, and dont rush it, and when you get older like me now , you carnt rush it .lol
