Nightmaster 800

Recommended Posts

I've got a red one and a white "turbo" version. Both have the extension tubes and are running on 2 batteries. The beam of the red one is equal in distance and power to a Lightforce 170, the beam is a lot tighter but the clarity at distance is far superior. I get eyeshine from the very end of the beam and from areas that have revealed nothing with the Lightforce. I use the lamp a lot and can get at least 2, sometimes 3 sessions out of a set of batteries before they need charging. Spare batteries can be bought for about £12 a pair. If you are going to mount it on a rifle, you won't find better, IMO. I use mine for lamping with the dog. The disadvantages are the tightness of the beam. You need to cover every bit of ground as it's easy to overlook rabbits and such, due to there being no overspill. It's also hard to keep a running rabbit in the beam. My dog likes it and has no trouble seeing his quarry in the beam. I've not been so impressed with the white one, it's beam is even narrower. I think a lot of it is down to my preference for a red beam and the fact that I haven't used a white beam for years. I'll probably buy an amber LED module and swap that for the white one.

I use the scope mount to connect the two torches together. I haven't used my Lightforce or Lazerlight since I got the Nightmaster. They're a good company to deal with and offer real quick delivery.
