I was working there just before it kicked off. I actually just received an email telling me I was being made redundant, didn't have my passport because you have to give it away to get a stamp so you can leave the country. While I'm hanging around the staff house feeling miserable and not knowing what I was going to do when I got home I could see on the news things breaking down in the neighboring countries and had a very bad feeling it was going to happen there as well. I was very close to going to the British embassy actually...luckily I got my passport back and got out of there less than a week before it all started.

 

It's amazing how you put yourself in these dangerous situations just for a few quid. I'm done with that now...hopefully.
