J.Dog, hats off to you for what you have done for this dog. Not many would have followed through on their feeling like that. But don't be too proud as to accept the help off some of the lads and lasses on THL. Speak to your vet and get a figure for all the cost so far, including the tail off and after care. Surely if they know the background to why you brought this dog in, they will knock back the cost.

J Dog, you are a credit to the working dog community, and your pride wont let you take some financial help, thats a big thing in my book, if you cant accept any money help off us boys, let me re = phrase it, how about if the same boys who have offered money, instead of taking it as a gift for the dog, look on it as the dog being "sponsored" by us on here ???

 

At least until its re - homed ??

Well the vets told me he will do the op for under £100 it was supposed to be near £400 but due to the circunstances hes doing me a favour I'd like to thank you all for the comments help ect much appreciated , I think the dog will be staying with me now so the dog will be well looked after

To be honest, I'm surprised the vet wants to risk a general anaesthetic on a dog in such poor condition. Surely they should wait a couple of weeks until the dog has got a bit more weight on it? If she's on antibiotics for the infected tail it shouldn't be a problem. I'd get a second opinion or at least ask the vet why he wants to risk GA on such an underweight dog. Just my opinion.

I wouldn't be putting that dog under a GA just yet - very surprised the vet wants to do it so soon,

her internal organs wouldn't be able to cope with anything like that just yet,

would be better to wait a few weeks - at least a month get some weight back on her and get her a bit more healthy

her body would be better able to cope with everything then.

 

might be worth you investing in a coat also - if your keeping her outside even with a heat lamp

she will use more energy trying to keep warm as there's nothing on her to help.

 

And forget about the dogs trust if you do decide, they will just pts.

Yep the dogs staying with me now for sure , I'm going to feed her well , keep her safe and make sure she gets treated correctly should be a nice well put together dog with some TLC would like to thank everyone who has offered me help I'm going to get a coat for her too just that bit extra layers when out side
