brucemyster 75
A quick word with the farmers son directed us to a freshly drilled field of barley alongside a strip of woodland with a handy ditch to set the hide in, got there a little late (mid morning) and totally knackered as it was a fair old stomp, about 50 birds lifted as we crossed the field, Quickly erecting the hide and setting the decoys while the dog let off a bit of steam working the woods we settled behind the netting and the first birds started coming in but didn't seem fully committed, a quick shuffle of the pattern and a few dodgy decoys back in the bag did the trick and we were in, first pigeon went on the flapper and the action was non stop, so why the cartridge hell? simply didn't take enough cartridges and had to finish early, birds were even settling in the pattern while we where dismantling the hide:) A lesson learnt young skywalker, a lesson learnt. brucemyster 75
don't know how many, almost couldn't get all in to carry back to the car, weighed a ton. Left the flapper for the buzzards. Big down side not only did we run out of cartridges but noticed the spaniel was limping in the evening and has split his paw in between his toe. Any advice as to how to treat this gratefully received. Quote Link to post
Ratsmasher 36
depends how bad if its small it will heal, maybe keep him in for a couple of days but if bad might need to go vets. Im no expert but my terrier has had a couple of little ones on his pad and they seem to heal quite quick, just need to make sure there's nothing still in it Quote Link to post
