Bsa R-10 Mk2 Vc Rabbit Shooting

Recommended Posts

Last night the sun was bright so i grabbed my 177 bsa r10 mk2 vc and got my dad to take me to my permission (as im not old enough to walk my gun there ) i arrived there and spotted some pigeons in the tree at the bottom of the paddock i slowly walked down and about 8 female pheasants ran across the paddock about 5 yards in front of me. Thank fully this did not spook the pigeons i got within 20m somehow and could not get a shot due to the sun blinding me i moved into the shade 8) very slowly but they flew i had a look around and there was nothing more about so i put the gun back in the bag went to the gate and quickly bolted across the road to my other 300 acre permission. I had a chat with the farmer and had a look around i came around the corner of the barn and spotted about 6 rabbits feeding about 60m from me so i crept closer and used the sheep pens (what they use when sheering) i got with in about 30m and was very well hidden in amongst all the wood they had no i deer i was there so i knocked the safety off got laid down on the bi pod and took aim i aliened the crosshairs on its head gently pulled the trigger and the first rabbit rolled straight over i quickly pulled back the bolt and took aim again some were aware and others kept on eating so im took am at the aware one lined up the crosshairs pulled the trigger and it did a giant flip and jumped around, this spooked the others and they ran i walked over to collect them and another rabbit 50m away stoped i took aim giving 1 and a half mill dots hold over it was bang on elevation but a few inch to the right resulting in a miss i couldn't take the risk of injuring the rabbit so i let it live for another day,i picked up the rabbits and had a look into an other field and around some others nothing much was about they were to hard to stalk i had and chance at to young bunnys but they were just to small and i couldn't do it. so i decided to pop back over to my other small permission as it was getting dark. There was nothing out over there so i seen the land owner and my r10 caught his attention i offered him and my mate who was with me some shots at some little bottle tops i placed out at 25m and the land owner was amazed at the r10s looks, multi shot action, accuracy, how quite it is and range it can take quarry. So with him happy i decided to call it an evening as it was almost dark. so i took a few pics (what i hope upload :( ) and then phoned my dad to pick me and my mate back up he arived and we went back for a cup off tea and a chocolate bar . (hope you guys enjoyed the read ).

Good shooting mate! I've been out all day and not a thing

best time to be out is about 5:30pm and be back in by 8:00pm

I would say even a little earlier, the youngans are often out from about 3 onwards, and I find if I go out at about 4 ur forgotten about by nature by the time the oldens come out

They are absolutely brilliant rifles i was out with a mate to night i missed about 3 checked zero and all was fine must of been me  but i used my laser rangefinder to a tree 50m away and placed a small bottle top appleyed 1 and a half mill dots holdover and was hitting it over and over
