Guest CharlieC
Got a letter in today from the company I buy my e-collars from. It contains a letter to forwards to my MP. The animal welfare bill is shortly to be presented to Parlaiment, and certain organisations (read tree hugging lentil sipping hippy wasters :realmad: ) are putting considerable pressure on the Minister who deals with animal welfare issues, to introduce a ban on the sale and use of static correction products. The guy in charge of the campaign is requesting anyone who has experienced positive use of these training devices, to write a letter to their MP which will then be forwarded by him on behalf of several of the companies who make e-collars. If anyone is interested in seeing a copy of the outline letter to be sent to their MP, please PM, I will scan and send it to you. The more letters from satisfied customers we can provide, the better a case we can present. Cheers Folks
D.C. 34
I ain't no tree hugger..................and i feckin' hate lentils ......and i may be a bit naieve on elec. collars.........but i can't think of a reason to justify their use myself and we should be able to justify ANYTHING we do........but i will stand corrected if you can persuade me Charlie C ................... NOW if they are to be used for sexual deviences............WELL thats another matter  :11:
Guest CharlieC
they do work quite well for sexual perversion purposes   :11: :11: but if your asking me to justify their use on dogs, then I could give you plenty of reasons, but heres just a couple to be going on with : The dog that barks in the kennel and annoys all your neighbours A dog that chases sheep/cows or any other kind of livestock The dog that likes to bugger off and not listen when called. You dont even need to use the shock feature more than a couple of times, once the dog knows the score, the warning tone will suffice. Yes they are a bit of a lazy method to train dogs, I woudlnt use them on a pup myself, (although some people do) I think they are designed more for adult dogs, and if you buy an adult dog in and it has some nasty habits, an e-collar will soon sort them out, even to the point of correcting previously uncorrectable behaviour, as Im sure a few lads on here will be able to testify These collars have mild settings, and I have never needed to use much stimulation to achieve the desired results. Its a case of Each to their own, but banning them full stop means people do not have the option to choose
ChrisJones 7,975
The Animal Welfare Bill has received all party approval and looks to be going through without the slightest protest... http://www.archive2.official-documents.co....2/6252/6252.pdf If anyone can be arsed reading it have a look at the new powers the ArsePCA will be granted... ... and you thought the Hunting Act was bad enough...
