Hammo 42
I used to have a Pitbull that had a similar skin complaint , swooped his food to a cheaper food with less protein and it cured it instantly .

mrgjones 64
not for 3 months
paulus 26
not for 3 months ive had it a couple of times, one was hormones after she had a litter, and the second was diet (to high in protien) a skin scrape will rule out mites. if you treat her with benzol it will kill anything that crawls or jumps. Birchdown 38
If it aint mange it could be a food alergy. I once had a border x lakie which had the same probs. Have you changed her food lately ?
mrgjones 64
vet came out to tb the cattle thismornin. she thinks its diet. but canot rule out mites etc. takin her in thisafternoon for a steroid injection witch is suposed to stop her itching. then a spot on treatment to rule out mites etc. then an aditive for her food witch im going to switch to dry food instead of her rabit/buchers scrap mix. hopefully this will sort it. ment to say her kennel mate is fine so cant see it bein mange. thanks for the sugestions. ill let you know how she gets on. ryno 11
even if it is a diet problem you need to keep them scabs clear of infection. the best stuff is obtainable at the chemist and is for scabbies, i cant remember what its called but its a bit like calomine lotion

mrgjones 64
just an update the bich seems to be improving, shes had a steroid injection wich is suposed to stop her fealing itchy. and to be fair she is itching less but hasent 100% stoped. the scabs have all but gone. iv been puting vasaline on them. not shure if that was the [BANNED TEXT] thing but its wat was to hand. i think wat may hav been the main factor and its my own falt is that she constently has bits of this an that [BANNED TEXT] im eating. bits of sarnie bits of chocolate ( i now thats bad im an idiot) crisps etc.. the litle dogs like my shadow with me 24/7 an you get into bad habits. but thats all stoped now much to her disgust. [BANNED TEXT] the scabs are completely gone I'll trim her nice an short as this has stoped her itching so much in the past. her kennel mate sleeps in the same box with her and works the same areas so I'm prity shure it's not mites unless some dogs just don't get them? anyhow thay have both had the advocate spot on so that's covered. its the dog in my profile pick by the way. cheers for the advice lads
