peterosborne8 55
George a Plummer would be ideal for u if your using for rats and ferreting I had a lakie cross everything and a Plummer. The Plummer marks well, works great with my ferrets and rat well, while she was doing that I spent the rest or the time dragging the lakie out of holes backwards lol 1 Quote Link to post

wuyang 513
I've considered getting one for bushing, but I work bitches and I bet there quite hard to get hold of. Regarding the size, is there reason why we are seeing quite a few large ones and is anything been done to keep the size within a certain height? Thanks Quote Link to post
basherbrown 67
there are still plenty of nice sized bitches and dogs out there. i have seen some real beuteys in the last couple of years.heres a few pics of mine. 5 Quote Link to post
hawki 1,431
nice dogs pal.... that pups a little cracker Quote Link to post
George Kinloch 16
Really nice dogs there. How would be the best way of find people who work their plummers and are selling litters? Don't wanna end up with a poorly bred dog, just bred for cash. Most people I know have gun dogs not terriers. Don't mind waiting until the perfect dog comes up. Quote Link to post
Cleanspade 3,322
george if you are keen on a plummer put the word about. and if you have the work for a good terrier. a working breeder should come to you with an offer of a pup at a reasonable price. its in there interest to get the terriers to working homes. ask to see the terriers out and about . insist on seeing both parents. there are decent working folk with these terriers but you need to be patient. and do your homework and good luck 1 Quote Link to post

Are the cockers yours too, just I'm wondering how you would compare them to the plummer terriers as a mooching/bushing dogs for rabbits and finding scents when there's not much about. Cleanspade 3,322
size wont be an issue for you george. a bigger terrier could have its benefits. my best plummer is a big lump. as long as you are aware of this if you decide its worth breeding of at a later date. it shouldnt be a problem Quote Link to post
peterosborne8 55
Defo prob need to travel I would think George like clue spade says look around. There are some taller dogs around depending on the line behind them mate but they are good dogs and graft well. Quote Link to post
George Kinloch 16
The way i look at it is a days driving for the right dog is a small sacrifice. If anybody knows of any working plummets coming up for sale I would really appreciate a PM. Quote Link to post
wirral countryman 2,110
Browner, you know like me that most are bred with no intention of work or size, the likes of welsby thinks 17TTS and weighing 25lb is acceptable for a dog, there are only a handfull of us that breed for size, work and actually get out and work them fully,I like a handsome terrier as much as the next man but it must be a worker, atb,WM 1 Quote Link to post
