there are still plenty of nice sized bitches and dogs out there. i have seen some real beuteys in the last couple of years.heres a few pics of mine.

George,a decent plummer or russell would suit you fine so long as its off decent workers with a brain, mine are capable of doing most things and make good all round dogs,a lot of terriers are limited b

if you dont plan to dig over it-get a plummer it will suit your needs better-you buy a patt and you will be digging it -atb

George a Plummer would be ideal for u if your using for rats and ferreting I had a lakie cross everything and a Plummer. The Plummer marks well, works great with my ferrets and rat well, while she was doing that I spent the rest or the time dragging the lakie out of holes backwards lol

I've considered getting one for bushing, but I work bitches and I bet there quite hard to get hold of. Regarding the size, is there reason why we are seeing quite a few large ones and is anything been done to keep the size within a certain height?

Thanks

Really nice dogs there.

How would be the best way of find people who work their plummers and are selling litters? Don't wanna end up with a poorly bred dog, just bred for cash.

Most people I know have gun dogs not terriers.

Don't mind waiting until the perfect dog comes up.

george if you are keen on a plummer put the word about. and if you have the work for a good terrier. a working breeder should come to you with an offer of a pup at a reasonable price. its in there interest to get the terriers to working homes. ask to see the terriers out and about . insist on seeing both parents. there are decent working folk with these terriers but you need to be patient. and do your homework  and good luck

Great pics. Are the cockers yours too, just I'm wondering how you would compare them to the plummer terriers as a mooching/bushing dogs for rabbits and finding scents when there's not much about.

Cheers

Thanks for the advice. I have loads of work for a Plummer. Quite a few permissions and I work on a shoot. The dogs able to come to work everyday with me as well.

Will defo do my research on the training as want to get the most out of the dog.

Will post a few things on here and have a look around. Would be willing to travel a long way for the right dog.

Browner, you know like me that most are bred with no intention of work or size, the likes of welsby thinks 17TTS and weighing 25lb is acceptable for a dog, there are only a handfull of us that breed for size, work and actually get out and work them fully,I like a handsome terrier as much as the next man but it must be a worker, atb,WM
