seperate or not ?

Recommended Posts

i have 2 16 week old jills, one albino who is quite small and her polecat sister who is almost as big as my 2 year old polecat hob (vasectemised) the hob is a mug and just lies there while the jills beat him up and then sneaks off to sleep, the jills have always played and had fights and stuff but over the past few days they have started getting really violent, they have a good go at each other, bared teeth, arched backs, hissing and jumping about etc. they don't actually bite hard, they don't draw blood or anything and the little one gives as good as she gets and more :whistling: they seem amiable towards each other most of the time, they feed together, they feed out of my hand/fingers, they dont bite (i can stick a finger in eithers mouth and they don't even close their mouths) should i worry ? should i seperate the three of them ? or am i being paranoid ?

Think I would just keep an eye on them, if there is no major blood letting than would imagine it is more a case of them playing and working out the hierarchy of they family. But as soon as one of them becomes withdrawn or goes off their food then maybe you need to be thinking of other options, maybe a second sleeping area or as a last result segragation, it would be a shame though as ferrets do love to have company.
