Pure Saluki?

Recommended Posts

i could understand being a pioneer and fetching a saluki back 3500 miles for breeding coursing stock 20 or 30 years ago, but why do it now, when the coursing jobs f@cked and salukis are not in vogue, theres already good saluki/ saluki saturated working dogs here

the best sals in dubai are probebly bred by the maktoums . but they also breed saluki x greyhounds aswell ..alotg are gifted!!, i was ofered a male saluki by young rashid al

i would be the first to defend them and say they are capable of many things, you know ive hunted them with falcons, had a go at lamping with them, killed deer with them before the ban, gone to watch c

i would be the first to defend them and say they are capable of many things, you know ive hunted them with falcons, had a go at lamping with them, killed deer with them before the ban, gone to watch coursing meetings, etc used them for mooching etc catching pheasants rabbits foxes etc had them up the scottish moorland etc :thumbs: ive ran and owned my own and also being lucky enough to be friends with a few saluki aficionado, stalwarts but in my opinion regarding hunting, and this is a hunting forum, they excel at one, the one they were bred for, the pursuit of game, and the imports i have seen with my own eyes performed no better in england, than dogs bred here off non import parentage, in fact they were not as good, due to having almost feral traits, the ones i have seen were much stronger willed than the more home bred type saluki, some traits you may have been able to put up with before 2005, but things have changed for the worse now

anything you will be able to buy in Dubai Abu Dhabi or Qatar will be from the Arab equivelent of Hancock so take your chance but you will have to be lucky .The freight charges are the least of the problems , the good ones are family bred and very very very rarely gifted to anyone only in exceptional circumstances

Wow that is an eye opener, thank you chaps.

I was working on the oil plants out their last year, seen a few running with the locals, they impressed me but were not like lurchers over here.

I shall see if i can source a pup from over here a much more easier way i do think.
