Young Magpies

when do the young leave the nest i know they lay there eggs in march,as i want to cut two trees down that they build there nest in every year as the trees are dying thanks

They won't have eggs until May I shouldn't think......

corvids are the first to lay eggs ive had maggies with eggs in at the end of january when it was still really cold and no leaves on the trees,took a shot with a catty and the bird flew of it had 8 eggs in it :yes:

Seeing the magpies and crows picking up nesting materials so i dont reckon they have started laying yet

 

Same here.

 

It's still like winter here, and although most of the corvids have paired up, there is no evidence that they've laid yet. I was watching some rooks starting to build nests in Hampshire on Friday.

 

It's going to be a late spring, that's for sure :yes:

aye just cut them down , if your planning on using the wood for logs more so do it now before the sap starts rising and they take longer to dry out

Saps been rising for a month.
