Matt 160
Just cut em down. It'll be a few less magpies to predate the local songbird population. I doubt there have been any eggs laid yet anyway. It's like February here, not the end of March! Quote Link to post
The one 8,477
aye just cut them down , if your planning on using the wood for logs more so do it now before the sap starts rising and they take longer to dry out Quote Link to post

The one 8,477
Seeing the magpies and crows picking up nesting materials so i dont reckon they have started laying yet Quote Link to post
Bluebell h 69
Put a fen trap in the nest . Quote Link to post
Matt 160
Put a fen trap in the nest . Not legal. Please remember that it's illegal to use any spring trap for birds. Quote Link to post
Matt 160
Seeing the magpies and crows picking up nesting materials so i dont reckon they have started laying yet Same here. It's still like winter here, and although most of the corvids have paired up, there is no evidence that they've laid yet. I was watching some rooks starting to build nests in Hampshire on Friday. It's going to be a late spring, that's for sure Quote Link to post

Matt 160
Not all sping traps ? Larsen There is an exemption on the general licence that allows the use of Larsens. Spring traps are illegal to use on birds. Period. Quote Link to post
