Gaz_1989 9,539
I'll vouch for both gaz's and Tyrone's dogs are decent and the pups will make great all round dogs :-) So a bitch you've all seen work less than a season is suddenly worth breeding from??????the dog does its job well mate that's what counts. What was it doing before he had it?????i don't bloody know lol why would I know that?So like I said then you've seen a dog do a seasons work and its worthy of breeding off????? A season is hardly graft is it. look pal I've seen both dogs run there decent enough dogs and do there jobs well the pups will make decent dogs.I'm not disputing what the dogs are doing now, what I'm saying is I'd wouldn't be breeding off a bitch with no history to be honest.....at least not yet !! Surely what they are doing now is what matters? I don't know what she's done before and don't care. She's better than a lot of the shit being bred from. Both work ethic and temperament. She's the easiest going dog I've ever had, very steady, and that means a lot to me and should pass on into the pups. I could wait another season but I don't know how old she is. 4, 5, 6, 7? Who knows? Why does everyone get so concerned when someone mentions breeding? There aren't any for sale so don't worry about me trying to force one on you Quote Link to post

johnny boy68 11,726
Why though? If your happy breeding a dog with less than a seasons graft behind it then you crack on, they could be great pups but they could be a bag of shite, why do you think people like to give a few seasons graft before breeding? You admitted you don't know what the dog was doing before you had it and you "Don't care" That says enough to me, breeding a litter and don't care. 1 Quote Link to post

You admitted you don't know what the dog was doing before you had it and you "Don't care" That says enough to me, breeding a litter and don't care. Of course I don't care what she's done before. It would be word of mouth anyway. Which means feck all. I know what I've seen with my own eyes though and I want a pup from her. Yes ideally I would work her for another season or 2 first. But how old is she? 4? 5? 6? I don't know but I know I don't want a first litter from a 7 year old bitch. And as for them being bags of shite. Yes they may be. But there won't be any for sale to disappoint people. A selected few mates will be gifted a pup and 1 or 2 kept back myself. There will be no surplus 3 Quote Link to post

Hot Meat 3,109
Haha don't let it get to you butty. When breeding a litter you have two choices imo. First you can breed off workers and hope for workers. Or secondly you can breed lines nice and tight and hope the blood comes to the front. This lad has no intention of either he is simply going to breedvfor sake of it. Is this not a forum ehere folk can give opinions? I was under the impression it was boyo Quote Link to post

Hot Meat 3,109
Ok I'll go along with that. I do believe there arevtwo schools of thought on the subject. But if you want to breed best to best or worker to worker. You have to make sure you start with workers. I'm not having a go at you I'm offering advice iv spent thirty years plus with my own lurchers. Because a dog does well for a bt don't mean its a good worker. Just out of curiosity when did you start the bitch. I'm sure you'll agreecwe have not had the best of seasons this year weather wise. So I can't imagine you have done thay much since sept. That's if you even starteed in sept. Says at start of thread your two dogs. Your going to keep two pups you must have some permission and qurry 2 Quote Link to post
