Hard Digging County

Recommended Posts

Cant tell you about anywhere else , but i can tell you that gloucestershire has some of the hardest digging ! Ive had guys come out with me who have dug all over and they all agree that you wouldnt want it any harder. You clear the topsoil, then a foot of clay, then you hit the limestone. You need a bar an excavator and a garden fork with the two outside tines ground off to loosen the ground. I dream about light soil where your shovel sinks in easy and and a bar is something gathering dust at the back of my shed.

@hack. My mates and I was wondering if it was just us that found Kent awkward lol.

Granted it can be hard in places down here. But if your talking about the same mates i think you are they make it look a lot harder than it is.Ive never seen so much sweating, heavy breathing and shovel passing.Lol Edited by downsouth

Had a couple of mates come down to kent from south wales last year to pick a dog up so we popped out for a dig whilst they were down.Afterwards the said if they lived down here they would stick to the lurchers. It was only a 2 1/2 footer
