johnny boy68 11,726
Its getting a bit crazy on here of late regarding the GSD x's I seen a few run in the early 90's, good dogs too being honest but they never done nothing better than what a lot of different more established breeds were doing. I haven't seen many pics of 2nd/3rd gen gsd x's, does anybody keep a line as such? That ain't a dig thats just a general observation. Quote Link to post

camp lamper 8
northernlite.a gsd can run in thick cover they can track deer in the dark no lamp needed they dont rip open like a tomatoe like a lot of lurchers do.they have strong thick pads and good bone they have great stamina .they are super intelligent they can think for themselves they are not wimps they are hard, they use sight scent and hearing unlike most greyhoundy lurchers, they could survive in the wild unlike most greyhoundy lurchers .they have tremendous physhical power .they can be used as a gun dog a longnet dog bushing dog and if they throw right they make excellent hare dogs.in short they are proper lurchers. saluki x grey is a sight hound that needs fields of decent size .for gun dog work long netting bushing and general purpose work the saluki x g being sight hound is not capable of multitasking at all .saluki x grey are not even lurchers they are sightounds longdogs. You've just described what umpteen types can do, I've seen a few 1st x collie/greys that can run thick cover and hunt in woodland etc and feckin lots of dogs will hunt with no lamp. bull/grey x collie/grey here that will do all of the above and more, he struggles to pull a sledge and hates coppers though best cross i have found no need to creep earth&hounds  aint creeping just saying need a good stud for a good bitch soon and would like to use same sort of cross Quote Link to post
