bigdaz 688
The problem is that everyone against any reform cites the case of the genuinely needy, as every claimant is lumped together. The genuine would be easier to spot and get what they were entitled to if it wasn't for all the workshy malingerers and imigrants muddying the waters. With the possible influx of god knows how many Romanians and Bulgarians and god knows who else this whole policy will solve nothing, there's simply not enough housing. All that said, there is a bit of me that doesn't agree with the " I'm entitled mentality" I know many scenarios where large families have lived in homes, children have moved out except one, both parents have died and the last one has inherited the house and this means one person living in a 3/4 bedroom house more often than not being paid for by the state. The arguement being it's my family home, you've had it, had the use of it, time to allow another family the use of it.

stabba 10,745
unjust law imo..what should have happened imo is that any tenancy effective from 1st April 2013 with more bedrooms than required should come under the new rules..not penalising a tenant who took an extra bedroom before said date by the thick council. with the council knowing full well that a smaller house(less bedrooms) would have been a better option. How about branching the law out to everybody in council/social housing. Then we'd see how many were all for it then. atb NMF

Frann 882
Iain Duncan Smith today insisted he could live on as little as £53 a week as he defended wide-ranging cuts to welfare which take effect today. The Work and Pensions Secretary said the Coalition's benefits reforms would allow people to 'break free' of welfare dependency. But when challenged on whether he could live on £7.57 per day, Mr Duncan Smith replied: 'If I had to, I would.' baldockbanks courser 598
If only the goverment would of built more houses when they started selling council house for the private landlord to make money we wouldnt be in this situation Yeah and we'd have even less country side for are children to go with their dogs! Shouldn't have let 1 immigrant in while there was shortages of anything for people born in this land, We should let those in who fetch the most to the table, the Irish built the roads in this country and they have many of the same ways of life as we do. What do the pols, rom, bulgs, pakis fetch to the table? At best they have made big bosses richer as they live 10 in a house so can work for less than English people, then send there money back home.
