Airgun Tuning

Recommended Posts

Hello folks, I am new to the forum and looking for a little advice. I've been shooting for a around 4 years now I am a big fan of spring rifles, I have considered buying a pcp however every time I go into my local shop i some how leave with yet another springer. So far I have a AA pro sport, a hw97 and before both of these a tx200 (part ex'd it for the pro sport) both the pro sport and the HW97 are fantastic rifles but I guess thats what you pay for. The other day I decided after reading some reviews of buying a SMK XS20 and tuning it and maybe adding a custom stock etc etc. has anyone else done this and also can anyone recommend anywhere that can do the 'tuning' etc. I have seen some kits on the internet but do not trust myself enough to do it myself.

Any help is appreciated

I know someone who has a xs19 he put a WWT on it this makes the most difference as the standard trigger is awful he then fitted a smk silencer and a ox spring and it takes out rabbits at 30m+ no problem and gets decent groups not amazing but a thumb nail size is what it gets, quite a smooth cocking action breaking the barrel fells nice and sturdy no movement or frightfull noises they aren't as bad as people thing to be honest, but at first we went though lots of pellets and couldn't get groups until he got the new trigger from woodfield gun care/tuneing and then the groups were brill hope this helped :)

cheers guys, the xs20 to be honest is a great rifle, i know some people think they are just cheap chinese guns but its build quality is quite surprisingly solid and the trigger is not too bad either its great for vermin control, but I do just want to make it that little bit better. I have had brief chat with the guys at springwell fieldsports today and they said they can do a stage 1 tune for £75.00. but I will give woodfield a call too. Thanks

There is another way to go if you want to go custom and tune! Ever thought of making your own PCP? Start out with an XS79, give it a seal change and polish the trigger (even Mole can do that), then fit an adapter and a high pressure air bottle (milegajo can advise there), get a custom stock and you have a PCP you made yourself from a Chinese CO2)!
