Hot Meat 3,109
What's the best dog you have seen working on the lamp? What made them better than the rest? Were they bred for that job? Never mind what yiu have got. What wuld you want out of a perfect dog? I think iv talked a guy I have not long met into breeding me a pup out of his bitch. He has asked me what stud id like over her in an ideal world. He rates the bitch but also thinks he has better but not of age to breed yet I'll be happy with a pup off the older bitch to be honest iv seen her do well this season on a few occasion So what dog would you put over a terrier x grey to produce all round lamping dog. I'm thinking a coursing dog like that nuttal fellas HotMeat Quote Link to post
Daytimeonly 91
good lamping dogs are lurchers, best to the best, but they all seem to have collie, a few have a bit of bull and saluki, and the main make up being greyhound. my ideal dog would be saluki bull greyhound x collie greyhound Quote Link to post

Hot Meat 3,109
I think I agree chid. Does anybody on here own a wellbred well worked sal/coll/grey? It mustt do the biz an be willing to be seen work. Money and distance no object for right stud if all goes ahead. Other than that it'll. Be a well bred coursing dog or buy a pup in? I've got a sal/whip/grey bitch exactly as you describe and I'm putting my mates bull/grey over her. He's a line bred bull grey which works out something like 3/4 grey 1/4 bull but he looks like a 3/8 5/8. Hoping for good things. Quote Link to post
