I don't know where to find her on YouTube ,,, it might be with the lucky films,, also if you can find any look for Splodge he's captins son,, and if anything a faster type,,, but I don't know if there's any film of him Quote Link to post
johnny 2 367
I have to ask, do all Saluki's just follow the hare like that? Niether dog in each clip ( dont know if it was the same dog) tried to work the hare just follow it. I am asking as I have never owned a dog with any saluki blood, You have to admire their stamina but as for the dog working the hare????? TC Well I for one would be happy to own a dog of the same quality as either of them.Like has been said the second clip is Red,which is the grand sire to my pup.If he turns out any where near as good as him I'll be one happy man! atb johnny Quote Link to post

Well, it seems yet another person cannot see what I can. Watch the Captain clip, now that dog is working the hare. Watch how the dog uses the dyke to keep the hare where he wants it, perhaps you have watched it but do not understand what the dog is doing? Although the first two clips the dogs caught the hares and caught them well, it was the attrition of the dogs that caught, not the dogs working the hares, if you cannot see that then perhaps you should take up train spotting? TC the clip is about 3 mins long and 2 hares get caught, not what you would call marathons. the hares were caught in the middle of field no need to use the dykes. Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
When it was legal the top lurcher coursing competition was the Forley Cup. All the finalists had to win through to compete on the big day. Every single dog that I'm aware of who made the cut was a saluki cross....except for one....the only purebred dog to make it to the final .....and she did so on three occasions....was T Griffiths Shady, a pure saluki!Didnt all the best dogs come from the north east aswell bolio the Middle East LOL Edited March 29, 2013 by desertbred Quote Link to post
