Plenty Of Young Rabbits About.

Recommended Posts

Despite one of the hardest winters we've had for years, there seem to be plenty of young rabbits about on all my permissions this year. Maybe it's because it's been too cold and wet for me to go out and shoot the adults, that there has been an explosion? Anyone else noticed this?

Aye its good seeing young rabbits about so early if they get a chance and its a dry year there might be a healthy population at the end of the summer

:hmm::hmm: In this part of the world it is not that uncommon to see the young at the end of Jan, its the end of March now, always plenty about by now, perhaps late March is early in some areas but it isn't here!

PS. There will not be a healthy population round here by the end of the summer, however fast they breed! :D:D:thumbs:

I agree with Deker , seeing some young rabbits about now , I consider this to be very late. Will normally be digging to young while ferreting from xmas on...not this year though. Only just started getting a lot of heavy pregnant does and a couple of milky ones a couple of weeks ago. It was a bad year for rabbits last year and it's got of to a bad start this year IMO.

Lets hope we don't have another wet summer.

I saw plenty of young ones in January last year, but this year I didn't even see many adults, until early March and thought the snow had knocked them back, but now they out in force. Good job too, my wife has just told me, we have run out of bunny burgers.
