i was luky enough to own and bread a few pure deerhounds one of which could kill a brown hare or two in greenfeilds much to a few lads amazment her daughter out of a arkinglass pure could run heather on whites very good a srtonger bitch about 29inch 90lb are they lurchers never but i had alote of fun whith them there is still a few about that just keep themselfs to themselfs sadly the coarsing clubs had to close in the right ground rocky hilly heather they can come into there own something iam glad i took part in

I have friends who used to run with the saluki club at joint deerhound saluki meets on the heather the pictures I've seen the way a deerhound can clear heather an scree an boulders with ease just amazes me .What are they like to live with daily are they easy to handle an train we used to have a wolfhound at home that was so laid back around the house but if someone walked into the yard alone god help them are deerhounds similar seeing as they share blood

lamplurcher we are just being realistic mate anyway there was a cracking thread up a while ago about deerhound coursing dont know if some one could put it up for you or if you seen it some cracking pics in it would of loved to of seen they dogs course the white hares before the ban

lampalurcher.i had a nice fawn greyhound bitch useless on the track didnt want to know .used to slip her on chinese water deer preban .caught them up easily never had one escape .with x track greyhounds you have to pick the ground to run them on .never run them on hard winter ground never ever run them in small fields or near barbed wire ,i had one called kate and she could manage three courses when very fit .bred three litters out of a big white bitch called patch produced some great lurcher pups.with x track greyhounds the main thing to do is have the presence of mind not to let them off in risky situations.made the mistake with the fawn bitch of letting my mate walk her in the frost .i said to him do not slip her on anything.he lacked foresight and control up jumped a hare back she came with a broken toe i was gutted great deer killing bitch ruined

it's alright if u have the restraint mate or another dog to work in the mean times when ground isn't suitable I just couldn't walk past game like that

Each to their own the main issue I have with whippets is there owners to be honest

I asked you earlier to explain why you think whips were pointless, now it's the owners not the dog, mate your a star.

He,s a bit mixed up I reckon, if its no the whippets but there owners maybe he should get one and then awe us other whippet owners will be cool like him

I stand by what I said whippets are piss an the owners are worse as they just seem to think there the muts nuts yer there grand rabbit dogs but there shredded hitting the slightest cover and all the ones I've seen are piss weak shivering stupid animals that do nowt but hunt up
