Being Able To Shout Your Bitch/dog Out

Recommended Posts

How many times have we entered a terrier into a shitty looking shallow 2 holer and then turned grey when the knocker went into overdrive?,its impossible to know at times, until we learn the land. When the lie of the land is known and a dirty location is known, would a digging dog be entered?,only by the fruits?,would a more seasoned mutt better utilised to these scenarios,s get slipped,a mutt that could be encouraged to leave upon the owners bequest?,which terrier would best get results?.

its one thing to not know the depth of an earth as we all know the risks involved in terrier work , and a complete different one to enter as you said a "physically impossible place to dig" Then as I said I've no shame in not putting my dog in !
. And i respect you for it brother

Good debate this lads :victory: .But first off a dog walking off on it's own accord is a different thing to a stayer that can be called off  ,The first i wouldn't own but the second a handy tool i can't see myself using very often but handy all the same as "you never know" .

In the past in a known "trouble" spot for terriers I've used "mole smokes" to get a bolt, why risk a terrier when there is no need, there's always more than 1 way to catch something when it has to be done, I've used this in many places with great effect, the purists may find this offensive but as a pest control method for a result it is effective, there are always other earths to use your terrier, WM

Mole it happened to me with my first digging dog, I thought I knew the land and let the bitch off on way back to motor. She dropped into a small place under a tree with no collar on. After ears to the ground I quickly dug 3ft to an unhurt newborn litter, located the dog again this time breaking through to the adult. Quickly back filled whilst being watched from 200yds by English Heritage visitors....mistake I vowed not to make again

Fair play mate thats why I vowed I would alway obedience train a dog to the best of my ability because of the three day dig He was my first digging dog and for three days there was no sound and thought we were digging to a dead terrier. I take great pleasure in training a pup and at the end of it you've got a terrier thats a pleasure to work.

Mole where do you actually get the time to dig as from reading your posts you seem to be on here most of the time, sorry i forgot you dont dig you call out the terrier.
Well mate if you've been reading my posts you'll know the terrier I have at the moment is only a pup so won't be digging for a wee while so I've got a wee bit of time too put my views across some people on here have tried to shout me down on my views and when I rattle there cage they don't like it but that's how it is don't dish it out if you don't want it back they'll know who I'm talking about. Pmsl.
