The Saluki X ... Ffs

I've kept lurchers for a good few decades now :-( and now have my 1st two heavily saturated Saluki x's ..nearly 6 months old and to be honest upto press I've not had a bother with them,100% house trained,jump grand for their age,been in and amongst livestock from the day I collected them,never batted an eyelid at them,recall is A1 every time,carry back to hand ...holy shit both will even sit on command and give you a paw lol and that's the truth...I dont want my dogs trained to gundog standard,I just want them to eat,sleep,kill and do as their told in the main...these Saluki x's seem no different to any other types I've had if I'm honest....maybe I've just fell lucky,time will tell I guess? I just think there's so many men with dogs out there and not enough dogmen...there's a world of difference between the two IMO....Atb Andy

the saluki x is a different hunting dog, to all the other crosses, temperamental, mind of there own, you need patience and keep calm at all times even when it seems the dog has gone a bit crazy just relax keep calm and above all just act as if nothing has happened, they can run, amazing recovery, from a Hard run, and great feet, truth they are natural hunters, and they can take all edible, they can run clever through difficult terrian, and when they return with there quarry, or you know they have nailed there quarry, all is forgiven, + they are mad keen to work, so you either Love them or ---------

mine is 3 years old, probably he would not have survived with me when I was young fellow, but age mellows, and the saluki

xs just needs that little bit more of PATIENCE, from his handler,

to watch the chase go and on had one that use to run with the hare between its front legs turn with but wouldnt mouth it would run for miles a know there not all the same just 90% of them

ok i must have the ten per cent that dont ..saying that youve a lot of experience of saluki based lurchers ,running in this country ,to have watched 90 per cent of them work .

I love them even if they do drive you nuts at times .Mine nearly drived me to dispair but once we got on the level with one another life was easier. Theres times when you want them to do something and they look at you with a look that says why the hell do you want me to do that . Not sure if its just mine but i find them a very sensitive animal and very loyal . Great amount of hunting drive and stamina in them . All i can say is all breeds are different and have there pros and cons but you get out of them what you put in to them
