.410 Humane Dispatch Pistol, Help Needed.

I have just got my ticket back with one of these on it, the question is what to get? I seem to be struggling to find one. Any help from those in the know would be greatly appreciated

I hadn't really thought about the cost to be fair. I just want something reliable and that doesn't look like a piece of gas pipe nailed to a plank.

they are a nightmare to find! the only two that i found were down the other side of london both old fashioned side by side pistols, found a proper pistol 40 miles down the road in the end, very lucky! Good luck with your search!

I have a business and deal with close range dispatch. My FEO suggested that I get one before I end up slotting myself by accident

I am sure that if you do that for your work you can get a center fire or rimfire pistol on you FC. a few years ago i had the same suggestion from my old FEO and was going to get one of those judge pistols, but they banned them so i didnt bother as all the others i could find looked like a musket !!!!!¬!!! which a friend of mine has and it recoils like a bitch.

To be honest I would not of gone down the .410 route for pistol, would have gone section 5 9mm or 357mag revolver. Plenty about at reasonable price, you should see what some of the large livestock Vets have, a local one up here (who enjoys his fieldsports and rifle etc) has a Glock, fair play to him as he often has cause for target practice to ensure accuracy in humane dispatch.

If you really want 410, you should get back onto yer FEO and get a variation in for a multi shot,, Cost and availablity should be enough reason to justify it.

 

Then get the Taurus revolver

Or you could ask for a fully auto AR and tell them you want it for home defence your just as likely to get it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whys that then,,? plenty folk get sec 5 multi shot. If you have a reason you will get it.

I think you may find that the taurus 410 revolver was banned because it can fire the 45 long round and it has a rifled barrel. from memory that was in 2010.

Also Cost and availability are not considered good reason when it comes to section 5 guns.

but yes plenty do get them but shot pistols are limited to smooth barrels and 2 shots, at least thats what i was told.

The Taurus may no longer be available but plenty still get multi shot pistols. I imagine that availablity will not come into it for other calbres, but if a variation was granted for a 410 pistol, and none are available then that would be good reason to change the slot for another calibre at least

Anyone know who would import the comanche .410 / .45 seems like the best of both worlds
