forest of dean redneck 11,532 Posted March 25, 2013 Report Share Posted March 25, 2013 if this x was so good why did it die out ??? yet bull x collie n deerhounds and salukis other xs have been around for years ??? what im seeing of these a big heavy dogs that will struggle on rabbits My opinion is It was popular in 70/80s for deer,then the saluki xs became cheaper and more readily widespread/ available and the old shepherd x was cast aside.Like i said earlier ,I seen roughly 2/3 at Dorset steam fair couple year ago,with travellers,they were not pure shepherds you could tell, If I could have a lurcher here,I would love another gsd x ,but I have neither the time to train or exercise one,let alone the space Quote Link to post
