Outlaw Pete 2,224
hey pete hope your not trying to work it out lol your pissed Cheeky f**ker! No; I was trying to remember / work out the one where we both put £20.00 in a box. Then ..... I finally remembered it: Then, I sell you the box for £30.00, so you're a tenner up! Try that, even on someone who's stone cold sober. Watch their face. See the passing shadow of the cloud of greed behind their eyes!
Born Hunter 17,841
It's just a confusing use of additions and subtraction for debt. Assume debt is subtraction and assets addition; £97(top) + £1(cash) (Assets) -£49(mumsy) - £49(dad) (Debt) And magically before and after your net worth is equal.
scothunter 12,609
yea i didnt get it straight away, when i first ever read that born, but it annoyed me,so i worked it out lol not a play of words this one,but i remmeber the first time i lost cash on the fork and spoon trick. A metal fork, and spoon joined together, balanced on the tip of a match. Then the match tip balanced on the rim of a pint tumbler. My brain just wouldnt except that, and i lost a tenner LOL
pegleg33 134
£97 / 2 = £48.5 So Mummy and Daddy have both spent an equal share of £48.5 in the coat, when they are given £1 each that takes the total to £49.5 £49.5 x 2 = £99 Leaving you with the £1 that you wanted to hold back
Born Hunter 17,841
£97 / 2 = £48.5 So Mummy and Daddy have both spent an equal share of £48.5 in the coat, when they are given £1 each that takes the total to £49.5 £49.5 x 2 = £99 Leaving you with the £1 that you wanted to hold back I don't mean to sound a c**t but you're wrong. If I lend you £50 and you give me £1 back you still owe me £49, regardless what you then spend the credit on. It's not complex, it's just a misuse of addition and subtraction to confuse the reader.
