Alright keepers out there,

 

How many red legs do you put down, on what acreage/farm type and what are your rough returns (understand some will be low but I'm not gonna judge!)

Partrige shooting is a numbers game.They are a covey bird,you get a covey over a gun and he has two shots at it,four if he double guns.To shoot a 200 - 400 bird day you have to put a lot of birds over the guns .Also most partrige shoots top up through the season.I dont think you can judge yourself against another shoot because there are so many variables,not least the quality of the keeper.

Yeah- not trying to compare my shoot to anyone else's or returns and know the deal with partridges. Just curious to how many birds people release on certain acreage as am thinking on increasing numbers.

If you want to increase numbers , do it , but do it gradualy.That way you will know what your ground can handle.

To be honest i hate the clucking fookers walking my dogs near dusk nothing better than hearing the old greys calling out to each other give me on covey of. Greys to. 20 reds. Just me oh and the last estate i worked on 25'000 !!!!!!!!!!
