martin 332
You could always ask for permission from the council,as they have a duty to control the rabbits on their land, the same as anyone else does. And,if they do give you permission, then there may be other areas as well. One thing is for sure,if you don't ask,you won't get!! Good luck..............................Martin.

COMPO 54
All land belongs to someone fact, caught catching rabbits and it could result in the police being called and you arrested for poaching! It could also result in you being thrown off/out under the trespass laws! The difference is usually your attitude when/if you get caught, "yeah and what are you going to do about it" results in option 1, "sorry mate i didn't know who to ask and am just catching a few rabbits, i am very sorry, i will go now" will more than likely result in option 2. However regardless of your opinion about "bunny huggers", i would write and ask you may be suprised, mention this act and section http://www.statutelaw.gov.uk/content.aspx?...xtdocid=1140499 and point out that the rabbits are eating the neighbouring landowners crops/gardens and that they have a legal duty to control rabbits, and that they may be sued by the neighbours if they dont just word it well and politely and ask for permission to catch rabbits and assist them with their legal obligation, pointing out you are insured (CA,BASC,NGO,SACS membership etc..) and will leave the land as you find it just with less rabbits! A letter to the council parks department, head ranger, estate manager etc...may work also state you are willing to visit when there aren't a lot of visitors Apply your best creative writing and hope for the best, what will you lose, 30 minutes time and a few letters, envelopes and stamps ?
