Feeding Times

Recommended Posts

Pups have access to high protein complete all day and are fed meat 4 x daily up to 6 months, 3 x daily til 9 months and 2 x daily til they're 12 months then they are fed once daily like the adults. I feed last thing at night 11pm ish (unless we are out and fed on return) I reckon they settle better when they're fed, warm and content...works for me anyway...

Mine get a small breakfast snack after the morning walk, then the main meal last thing at night. If we are out, they have an early evening snack, then main meal on return from mooching. I don't leave food down at all ( pups are different, but all mine are adult ) if it isn't eaten, it gets taken back up. But I can't remember the last time there was any left over !

Always feed any adult dog I have 1 hour after good exercise at night, believe they make the most if the proteins, fats and vits from their food and it settles them for the night.

Pups have access to kibble all the time till 10-11 months then in 1 feed like adults.

Feed mine at tea time 4-5 pm everyday,, that way if I'm lamping after midnight the food has been digested. I will also feed the dog on returning from lamping, in the morning ,, although I only do this when lamping

Feed them last thing at night then they settle down and are quiet in the kennel

same here, my pup Buck 7 month old 1x gsdx grey is fed twice a day 4pm then at night 10-11pm with Bryn my 1x collie x grey. If go lamping i like to give dog a 1/4 of its food at 4pm, and lamp about midnight.Ive found Bryn runs alot better with that bit of food in his Belly, last couple of nights he was well up for it and will run good 3-4 hours no prob and he is fast type dog from start to finish

Northernlite ... This is what i'm striving to get mine to do!

By giving him 10 minutes or so to eat his meal then picking up his bowl will this teach him to eat it straight away as I'm don't really want to have him snacking throughout the day like he currently us. He just turned 12 months old last week.
