Whippet To Go With Patt Pup

Recommended Posts

it is best to train the two pups by going out with a older patterdale to follow up and learn. you can get a whippet pup at the same time because then it can run around learning the ropes fences barbed wire etc it is better for it to learn about those hazards while still young .if you can find someone with fully trained hedgeing dogs and whippets your dogs will advance far quicker.if not you will have to encourage the dogs natural instincts.i allways used to find that pups need a exspirienced teacher to advance quickly.going solo the training process will be a lot slower but you will learn as you go along .

totally agree....I've always taken a pup out with older dogs who know the game....I also read the thread in the terrier forum about your pups.....if I were you I would just stick to raising the patterdales first mate .....brothers from the same litter are gonna be a handful to say the least...get the terriers to a level were you fully know there tempraments working abilities etc then maybe think of purchasing a whippet/small type lurcher etc...just what I would do......good luck in your choice....
