think its only about £100 for greyhound transporter. if money is a problem, i wouldnt go for a wolfhound, it will cost you a fortune in vets bills as they are all inbred to f**k

Not looking for anything inbred, would need to be top notch breeder. I know they have short life span etc but have always wanted one mainly showing for myself but the OH for hunting. Moneys not a problem just finding a good breeder is the problem.

there is no such thing as a good breeder of wolfhounds im afraid, not here anyway, russia or ukraine maybe. the breed has all but been destroyed by arseholes involved with the kennel club. as for hunting, tell your OH to get a lurcher or a deerhound maybe, as the only thing a wolfhound will catch these days is cancer.

Wouldnt bother with a Irish wolfhound the working types died out many years ago. The ones you see now are made up of deerhound, great dane and god knows what else.

Deerhound or deerhound lurcher would be best choice for working.

Its your choice though. I'd just do a lot of research into the breed before commiting to one.

Pay your money and take your choice, any info from anyone thats actually had one? Its you has to feed it and clear up its HUGE turds, cant see one setting the hunting world alight but if its what you want its what you get.

I've not long burried my misses irishwolf hound and loose the thought of ever using one for hunting with, there far to big and heavy and if one went down out in the field you ain't carrying it home, your'll need a motor to get out to it and when i carried ours to her grave i needed help to do it in a dignified way let alone carrying it if it was struggling due to injury. You have 6 good years with a wolfhound after that the vet bills start up and don't stop till they die, ours was on £150 a month heart pills.Lovely dogs and less hassle apart from her size than any other dog big or small i have ever owned, didn't need a lead, would let the smallest child climb all over her, even all my terriers as pups have all used her for a sun lounger and she took all the hassle terrier pup can trow at a dog,so why wouldn't oi own another?.The heart break of seeing a grand beast go down hill at a early age is just to much for me,soft but i'd perfer to think of them as noble dogs than the weak hearted, over sized so their joints don't cope dogs they really are.
