Guest Frank
Rabbits, being their main deit, hare, birds, rats ( dead frozen fawd out ones) from pet shops, chicken, pigeons and, if none of these, ferret complete. I voted mixture, as you can see from above. In the summer, feed carcasess in the evening, at dusk, then take out first thing in morning, less flies. Frank. borderboy 80
dry mostly... but raw whenever i can get hold of something suitable... chicken wings quite often also... Quote Link to post
FPO 0
Bit off both for our girls, Having the dry option is also good on the rare weekends away, can ask a friend to check and feed if necessary, and they dont have to bother with defrosting carcasses.etc Quote Link to post
Madcowz 0
I can answer this now I have some ferrets :clapping: Raw with dried as an absolute emergency back up. I did have a whole stack of rabbits stored up in the freezer but I thought it was going to be a few weeks until the babies arrived so gave the whole lot away. A change of plan meant that two kits arrived this Friday from Stubby so I had to pop out today with the boom stick. Shot four bunnies, put the back end of one near the sleeping ferts and I kid you not, I could have sworn they grew wings as they literally flew out of their bed and sank their teeth into the rabbit and proceeded to fight over it as they tried to drag it off. What a difference to the back up dried they had in their bowl. /Mad Quote Link to post

ferret15 0
OK so far it seems that the majority of us feed raw with half of this poll keeping dry as a back up for use in emergency's or day feeding ! keep the votes coming. Quote Link to post
highlander 0
I feed dry through the summer and raw through the winter less hassel and smell. Regards highlander. Quote Link to post
doddsy1970 9
I know i'm going to get crucified for this but............ For the past few years I have fed solely dried food and have argued many times with people over the issue and I still stand by some but not all of my reasons but last season I started to feed mainly raw rabbit, pigeon etc etc with the odd bowl of dried every now and then and I have noticed a number of things mainly that the condition of the ferret is better, the coat is shinier and their muscle tone is better, they do not have plaque nor do they drink anywhere near as much. So for me it is raw but I voted mixture because of the occasional times I do feed dry. Quote Link to post
