nice mate, my bitch lingers around the 75lb mark. one day shes 70, the next shes 75 lol it done my head in, i went over the top with feeding, pasta, tuna, sardines, scrambled egg, brown bred, corned beef, chicken , the lot, done my head in, OTT you could say. now iv settled on meaty beef bones, chicken caruss and meat, monced chicken, tiny amount of dried, lamb ribs and pork ribs lol still abit of an anorack with feeding, as i like nothing else than a greedy dog haha!

what X is that bitch of yours, i think its a 3/4 grey 1/4 deer?

yeh its a 3/4 gh 1/4 dh

Mine is mostly fed on raw and is a proper greedy twat, fed mostly on tripe/rabbit/hare/venison and whatever left overs we have, they get with a small scoop of dry each morning. He can eat anything though. proper pig!

my dad just picked up a pup same x ...he's 22.5 tts an coming upto either 5 or 6 month. How big was your bitch about 6 month old? That's if u know lol

A question to the lads who have had a deerhound greyhound and a deerhound collie greyhound what do you think shapes up to be the better, I've had the collie cross and a mate had a dh/g 2nd gen which was shite to be honest ( no balls) might of been a one off but I do think adding something to the dh/g makes a better animal.

I think it's just down to the individual dog's character. The two best dogs I've seen have been a 1st x deer/grey and a 1st x collie/grey x 1st x deer/grey, both superb dogs on ALL quarry on the lamp and both good daytime hare dogs, this was 80's 90's, just in case I upset a tree hugger!

I think at about 5-6 months he was probably about 24" although am not sure. At 7 months he had passed 25"

road side venison, full of the vets poison he put it down with

I spoke to a vet about this once, he told me there's no way a vet would jab a injuried deer, and just leave it for any and every animal to scavenge on, and there fine to feed a dog if there fresh.

Why would you comment on something your not sure about?

Has any one got a deerhound x greyhound (not talking dogs of old, what's about now) that they take out and it retrieves fox week in week out? A 20+ dog a season, as well as other testing game week in week out?

I know no one can or probably will comment in the current climate, but from my experience they a crafty x that for the size are frankly a bit yellow when it comes to commitment and hard nights work compared to other lurchers breed for the same tasks.

If there are any you should breed from them other wise it will be Finnished as purely a working mans dog.

As I've said nothing wrong with there running style and speed, it's at the end of the run they seem to lack.
