Air Arms Tx200 Mkiii Or The Hw97?

Recommended Posts

A quick update on my previous post just changed pellets to falcon accuracy plus. I can now better the tx200 that i tried earlier (we shoot together) My groups are now sub 5 pence piece at 30 yds with a standard untuned 97kt with Hawke Panorama EV AO scope.

Hi have recently been shooting a tx200 in .22, I own a standard 97kt .22 and have owned a 97k with a v mach kit. The tx does appear to shoot better than a 97kt out of the box. The one I tried had a softer recoil than my gun and I could get better groups than with my standard 97kt. The recoil on my standard gun is more bouncey in comparision however with a tuning kit you can turn them into a dream gun. Points I did not like on the tx200 are the annoying rachet sound of the cocking sears and particularly having to press the release button to close the cocking arm and then the safety catch, its just more faffing about, also the cocking lever of the tx200 kept unlocking and would not keep shut. (it had a sling fitted to it). The overall quality was excellent and the stock was lovely but overal I still prefer my 97kt.

why do not many pro sports come up for sale second hand, but loads of 97s up all the time

there may be a lot more 97s [or are ] than pro sport .alot of people may get a 97 as a first gun ,when they wish to try a new gun its 97 for sale ,also I know this my get a negative response I belive 177 at 12 ftlbs is a better cal than 22 alot of people get rid 22s for 177 when they realize there mistake .The majority of second hand 97s are 22 .I do understand there may be more 22s sold than 177 new ,but the ratio is not as high as 22 sold second hand .If you want to hold out for a 177 97k there are not that many.
