Malt 379
Neither, Google Nexus 7.. £159 from the Google play store: http://www.google.co.uk/nexus/7/ Awesome bit of kit for the money, bought one for my boys 10th birthday. A lot of the games you have to pay for on the Apple App Store are free on the google play store. You can also buy a £3 lead off the net and plug a PS3 pad or an other USB pad straight into it to play games..

arcticgun 4,548
bought a cheap tablet of ebay from a uk supplier, 7" screen android iirc paid £50 come in pink as it was for me little girl and to be fair its amazing value, she never puts it down , all software free intead of being tied to apple, memory can be expanded via cards etc cracking value and ideal for a kid , we bought the lad an expensive one last year and he sat on it and fooked it lol I was a little dubious when we ordered it well in advance of xmas just in case it was crap, but fair play its cracking bit of kit, worth considering for sure

lurchergrrl 1,441
I got my son an android for his 9th birthday. No way could I - or would I - pay for an ipad. I got him a 7" Quantum android tablet, cost me £74. He loves it I've locked it up so he can't go on line or to the play store without me there. Put movies and music in it as well. Makes him happy and keeps him occupied when I won't let him turn the tv on (which is 90% of the time) or it's pissing down rain outside. He doesn't need an all singing and dancing one anyway. One downside is a bit of a short battery life but that's not a big deal 'cause he's only allowed a certain amount of time on it anyway. Besides they all have ipads in class at their school now. Lucky sh!ts lol
Frann 882
the Nexus is a great piece of kit. I had both the new iPad and Nexus to see which I preferred and stayed with the Nexus
