lee81 190 Posted March 27, 2013 Report Share Posted March 27, 2013 thanks lads went out this morning and dont know what im doing wrong but drew a blank, netted all holes and know warrens are live as could see prints leading in and out of them in the snow aswell as fresh droppings and ferret went right through several times but no bolting rabbits tried for ages before switching to another warren but same again on every one only thing i can think of is rabbits were out in the fields. what do you lads think any advice would be appreciated! get your self a pup and take it with you soon it will let you know if the bunnys are home and it will save you time netting emty warrens 1 Quote Link to post

lor123 12 Posted March 29, 2013 Report Share Posted March 29, 2013 when your ferrets get their first rabbit down those holes then they will switch on very quick, chances are they are not going all the way into burrows if its new to them and yes you will need a dog thats switched onto rabbits but could be any dog once he switched onto rabbits and wont kill your ferrets. nighthunter. 13 Posted April 4, 2013 Report Share Posted April 4, 2013 yeah they trick you mate rabbits dont be fooled by prints n stuff plus rabbits move about mate with the weather . they will use them micky mouse warrens at night like airgun sed , if there is woods near by with banks you can bet ya life thats where they will be. other than that like u sed you are new two ferreting , how good are your ferrets mate? cuz i had one or two in my time that are useless they will go in dont get me wrong, but only from hole two hole , they didnt go in the back ends where the rabbits will go mate. so take a look at that two and gl bud.
