jultaylor1972 2
My first hutch was very similar to that. I just put mesh over the top of the wider bars and it was fine. also made a three inch lip all the way across the top and bottom floor so that the wood shavings stayed in the hutch every time I opened the door as opposed to all over the ground Looks like a great home for the ferts Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
a jill will escape out of that no problem mine escaped out of there food feeder and i can only just fit my fingers in it Mine have lived in a similar hutch with the same bars for over a year and havent escaped I have small Jills too.... I'm not saying dont put the mesh, no harm in doing so but in my experiance it dosent need it. H&J I have had jills escape from out of cat carriers the inch square metal fronts, so i think the lads done right putting a layer of mesh on, its beter to be safe than sorry Quote Link to post
