Landrover Are They Really As Unreliable As Everyone One Says

hi all was thinking about getting rid of my terrano and getting a defender 90 Iv hurd alot of people say the discoverys are unreliable and leak ect ect. just wondering what experience you guys have had with the 90's or am I making a mistake buying one? cheers

if your after a car that doesnt leak in , dont get a 90 ...:thumbs:

having said that the ones ive been around have all been reliable and anything what did go wrong was easy to repair

Freelanders ! holy f***ing crap, what a pile of shit they are. and There is now way I would pay the price wanted for some of the dog defenders and 90`s that some folk ask,

 

Piles of shit,, leave well alone. Only way to get a good landie is to build your own

They aren't as fast or as comfortable as some of the others but who cares.

I wouldn't have anything else.

Had my 300tdi disco for 5 years and given it loads of abuse. Started greenlaning then got into terratagging and entered it into a winch challenge while building our traybacked rangie. Would like to see any other 4x4 stand up to the hammering its had. Yeah its had its faults but nothing too serious. worst was blowing the clutch in a bog, but driven too and from all but that event. Rather worrying about the leaking issues be a bit more concerned about the metal worm, but as long as you can weld and do a bit of simple mechanics then I would say landy over anything.

 

P.s. they don't leak, just mark their territory.
