Had Enough Of Pcps

Recommended Posts

I hear where youre coming from. PCP is soul-less shooting. Fast fire earring is where they come into their own and few come better than the 100.

mike i have to dis agree with that comment, you still have to place the shot at a precise range, which with a PCP it involves shooting skills, with a spring rifle its more rewarding  but the same marksman principle applies

i was out last night with Si,and we took the spectra's ratting.although we had double figures between us! i am sure if chaz was with us we would of had a lot more with the PCP,so hardly soul-less :hmm:

In my experience a pcp requires little more than a rough understanding of trajectory. A print out of hold over/under on your lens cap and there is little left in a shot aside from pulling the trigger correctly and maintaining your hold.

That's great. In fact, its quite incredible.

The soul less part is most striking for me when target shooting.

I accept your opposing view however. Each to their own eh.

id get the 77 you shouldnt lose on it if you ever change your mind. id keep the 100 though, i know exactly what shooters mean about pcps being soulless which is fair enough but if your hunting numbers youd struggle to keep up with a springer. The 77s are pretty easy to tune yourself aswell.

I've never owned a PCP and I never will. They are not for me. I was raised on spring rifles and they are what I understand and shoot with best. Any one of my rifles will take out rabbits rats and pigeons in numbers in my hands and I'm delighted with what I have to go shooting with.

But, knowing that the HW100 is a truly accurate and fine quality PCP, I'd advise you find out where you are coming unstuck with it and put it right. I agree with the good advices you are getting here that, if you sell it, you'll regret it webster. And there should be a PCP in a shooter's armoury. (...Just not mine.)!

However. What about you keep the HW100, the HW80 and buy the HW77? Is £150 really too much for adding a truly fantastic underlever, or for losing another fine rifle you already own and will find use for yet?

well going too have a look at the 77 tonight hes after £150 but im a tight scottish git so will see if i can haggle with him

the pcp thing is sorted as she has said i can keep the 100 but we might sell her falcon raptor if she likes the 100

i think half the problem with the 100 is its in .177 and out too about 40 yards needs sod all hold over unlike the .22 springers i might find the .22 100 a bit more chalenging as i would have too learn the hold over and under .

, i had a .177 hw95 for a while and got rid of it for the same reason , might just try and increase my ranges with the 100 see if the enjoyment comes back
