Lancashire Hunter 22
Hi guys just got back from what should of been a full nights lamping firts field showed a few bunnies. Got 15 yard off the first one slip and she nailed it. Same field 50ish yards on another cracking little course and another in me bag any way 1 and half fields further and a total of 5 in the bag my lamp starts to play up then works. Spot a good rabbit in the middle of the field started creeping up on it flick the lamp on and slipped the dog then darkness. I know it wasn't the battery as it was fully charged. The dam switch burnt out so had to call it a night. At least I got something for the pot. Just out of curiosity does any one know were I can get a new switch and possably lead with switch for a night searcher lamp? I believe its the nightsearcher ranger. Looked on the bay but no succes. Thanks for reading. 1 Quote Link to post

Bosun11 537
Chris, with 'most' lamps you'll find that they need a bit of work to make them robust enough for the long dark nights, most lampers make modifications to get 'em right. You can get switches from Maplins that would be just as good, if not better. they ain't hard to put on either. If not, and you want to put the manufactures switch on, try ordering 'on line' or try the Rainford gun shop, or McAvoy's gun shop Standish, they are local and 'may' be able to source the parts for you. Lancashire Hunter 22
Aye I know ste at rainford. I had a bust up with him 3 years ago long story but your right he is one missrable aragunt c**t who should not own never mind run a buisness. I found a old deben switch from a old lamp it was a 6 volt lamp wired it up and it did the same instantly. But I honestly know nothing about electrics. Could it be a fault with the wireing or the lamp? Or was me attempting to put that switch on my stupidity? Quote Link to post
gnipper 6,509
Is it definitely the switch? Most dodgy lamps I've known have been little breaks in the wire that get progressively worse. Quote Link to post
Lancashire Hunter 22
I am assuming its the switch when looking at switch trying to turn it on I see blue sparks from the switch and it starts melting the plastic part of the switch. If it is the cable were could I get a new one? Quote Link to post

Thanks for reading. its a pain in the arse when your lamp packs in. when i buy a new lamp the first job i do is rewire them, i do away with the switch and wire it up so i just touch 2 wires together never get any problems with thwe switch failing.
