mark williams 7,550
Hi All, After much thought and many, many years using 22 rifles(all springers) i have bought a hw100 kt 177 after being amazed with the accuracy of this rifle at my local indoor range. After the advice of the clout a 22 gives to the advice of 177 is far superior in accuracy i thought - well i`m shooting out to 45yds max`and my rule is head shot only. I was not dissapointed 5 shots gave 4 wood pigeons and a miss (gust of wind) I have found 177 extremely efficient for head shot, my pellet choice through advice again is AA field diablo. Any advice most welcome. Regards, Mark. Quote Link to post

Acuspell 329
And my advice to u before you get linched or pitch forkedis to do a search on your topic...people are sick to the back teeth of this topic mate WHY? New discussion, new thoughts, new ideas, new arguments come up each time. Unless you are too lazy to think and write something new, and just post the same post again each time. I find I learn new things all the time, so there is always something to add to the previous discussions - rifles change, pellets change, peoples technique changes. It would be a boring pllace if there was nothing to mull over. Let's see, what topics could there possibly be that HAVE NEVER BEEN DISCUSSED BEFORE? If you come up with one, let me know, I shall be even more interested in the outcome. By the way - as a relative newcomer to the .20 fold - WHY did you go for that calibre, and what have been YOUR findings since using it? I have contributed plenty on my reasonings over the 17 years I have been shooting .20 - so lets hear your findings. Quote Link to post
woodcote1 88
In my experience, the smaller the calibre, the smaller the kill zone. 22 for me and all my hunting. Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
You tell me what's so different about the last calibre debate between .22 and .177? Lol not a lot. Regarding .20 calibre, I'm getting on great with it, said this before I done the calibre swap because I was using my mates mk1. 30yrd zero , on 10x mag to my furthest point I can stand an hit knockdowns is 50 yards, so don't take many shots past that unless supported. Which gives me 1.5 mildot hold , and I love the knockdown power. Still to try out jsb yet though. Quote Link to post
