Born Hunter 17,788
I just reading a book on the Falklands war. Reading of men like this lad, it's just amazing. There's also a FB page called British Military or something similar, they put up similar stories of lads awarded for valour in the battlefield through historic conflicts. It makes you proud to be British.
Blackbriar 8,569
A better man than I will ever live to be. May he rest in peace, and I hope time will ease his family's loss.
DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
Just to put this into perspective there has only been hand full of Victoria crosses handed out since WW2. It said he was 6'8'', and killed 3 Taliban fighters in a close quarter assault before trying to throw a grenade at a sniper. Unreal. RIP
fireman 10,940
Sad to think some think his life was wasted,he knew what he was doing. He sacrificed himself in full honour,he could have kept his head down and hid but he stood up and went forward and died doing so,a sad thing to happen to a proper man but don't say it was a waste as it taints his actions as a mistake. RIP.

Guest scramble
This young lad didnt waste his life, he traded his so that his mates could keep theirs. The actions of a true HERO and rightly recognised by the VC awarded to him. If this was my son i'd be the proudest father in the land and humbled knowing he was more of a man than i could ever be. My thoughts go out to his family. Rest in Peace.
