Grinds my gears a bit this does......A lad gives his life and gets awarded the highest military honour and recieves 5 f***ing replys, if it had been some thread about trixie the feckin dog it gets pages and pages or about some smelly feckin paki immigrant it would get also get pages.

Human nature ain't what it was. :censored:

23? He was just a baby in the civilian world. My heartfelt wishes go to his family and friends. The medal will help in recognition of his bravery, but it can't bring back a life wasted like that. R.I.P.

Bang on walsh, the lad gave the ultimate sacrifice, you hear so much the word "hero" these days but in this case it truly applies.

I've said this for a long time johnny. This country is now full of grown men and women who spend their whole lives getting upset or claiming compensation because someone else has hurt their feelings or called them "names" and in the background young men like this are laying their lives on the line without a thought for the consequences. Getting our priorities wrong doesn't begin to cover this.

this bravery goes on daily but after 10 years it becomes old news, when was the last time a body was shown being repatreated or a military funeral mentioned in the national press, its quickly becoming a forgotten war, i for one will never forget. "sacrifice and service" words that should mean far more than they do in todays society.
