bunnys. the brindle was gsd father greyhound mother slow away very fast top end great stamina 500 hares,240 deer by five years of age muntjack cwd barasinga fallow and 1 pere davide, you would have a job catching 500 hares around my area now to much hedge destruction.grass fields destroyed and to much pollution,he had faults like refuseing to chase rabitts in the lamp ,and stopping sometimes on daylight hares.i think being young and over keen i burned him out by overworking him .i wish i could have him back i would not have worked him so hard.i remember going courseing with the gypsies and invariably they would laugh as thier dogs shot off in front but they didnt laugh when he cruised up behind thier dogs and put his turbo on and flashed past

Just out of interest, where did this dog hunt Barasingha? What's the story behind the Pere David?

kranky.the barasingha was at woburn abbey 1974 as are the pere david.the barasingha was a female very fast take off speed and the pere david there was in a herd of them he chased them and i thought i was going to be trampled to death i thru myself down onto the floor if they had hit me it would have been game over.very heavy powerful deer .sounded like a cavalry charge .i did not realise how big they were .one split from the group and hit a four bar gate smashed the gate down at full speed and snapped its neck.it was so big i had to dissect it to get it into a lotus cortina boot and it was so heavy the car was bottoming out on the way home .i didnt know why he even chased it as he would never have brought it down .he was a very clever dog on deer etc. on looking at it i discoverd it was blind in one eye how the dog realised that i still dont know to this day .a few months later i got raided .thats the problem when your selling deer to many people who want to drop you in it
