shovel leaner 7,650
We used to have housemartins under the eves of my house ,then i discovered the nests broken open and the parents all distressed .They rebuilt and had another brood and the same thing happened. So i watched and waited to see who the distructive culprit was......a Greater spotted woodpecker!!!A beautiful bird ,but i wanted to ring its neck, nature can be cruel. fireman 10,869
Put a big ball of chicken wire around it,the tits and smaller birds will still get through to use the boxes, same as under the eves wire it up and it it'll keep the peckers off those young un's.
