Mago 0
Hello, Many of you out there will have Pedigree Dogs that you use in the pursuit of your hobby and to assist you in your various methods of hunting. The UK Kennel Club have the complete Data Base for Pedigree dogs - but, unfortunately, it is only available to a select few. I have been pressing the Kennel Club for some time to make the Data Base available to view for everyone without cost. The Finish Kennel Club does this with access to more than a million dogs. If you have ever registered a litter of pups with the UK KC you have paid for entry into their Data Base; moreover, if a puppy is then sold on and the new owner changes the ownership a further charge is then applied by the KC. Thus, the KC has - at todays rates a potential of £30 per puppy. So, it is my view that the Data Base should be available to view without cost, just like the Finnish Data Base. Making it available you would be able to go back generations to research the pedigree of your dog and all of the other data that you may need for whatever reason. If you think that this is a sensible idea, why not email the Chairman Of The Kennel Club and ask him to open up the Data Base. The Chairman Of The KC Professor Steve Dean, breeds and exhibits Border Terriers. He has allowed a Border Terrier club unfettered access to the KC Data Base for Border Terriers only. This club borderterrier.org.uk now boasts a Data Base for this breed of 75,000 dogs. I think that this is not only unfair that the Chairman has been selective for his chosen breed, but it is outrageous. Please email the Chairman of the KC and ask him to make the data available to every breed. stevedean@tyrianborder.com Also you could ask your friends to do the same. I know that this posting is a little long and I thank you for your attention.

Mago 0
Hello Mack, The seventy five thousand Borders that are in the Data Base are obviously not still active as this goes back to the 1900s. But I do appreciate your point that working dogs do just that - work.
